Hold The Dark Review

A movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, yet still manages to offer a more than decent horror experience. If the movies "Home Alone" and "Scary Movie" had a kid, that would "The Babysitter".

In its duration of 1 hour and 25 minutes, the movie doesn't fail to surprise and entertain. The story feels solid, maybe even new, and has twists in it that you might not expect. The events taking place one evening take an unexpected turn for the worst for a young boy trying to spy on his babysitter. Just like in most horror movies there's a cliche present, though I can say with confidence that this one is not as bad as you may think. Beware that this movie contains a decent amount of gore and, even though I am not a big fan of it myself, I consider it to be just enough to give the movie a little extra.

All in all, I think it's a nice horror-comedy type of movie that I can recommend.

Final verdict: 7/10
