If you own a Netflix account you might have stumbled upon the movie Hold The Dark
.
After the deaths of three children suspected to be killed by wolves, writer Russell Core is hired by the parents of a missing six-year-old boy to track down and locate their son in the Alaskan wilderness.
Now, I do not want to call this movie trash. I am more than sure some people find it great but unfortunately, I am not one of them.
The story starts strong.I was intrigued to find out what's really going on and, well, it didn't take more than 30-40 something minutes to do so. The story wasn't anything too special. Since I don't want to spoil the movie I can't tell you everything that happened, but what I can tell you is that this movie's story is based around revenge , for the first part (watch it and you'll understand) and that after no more than halfway through the movie, you can already foresee the ending but I am not going to bash this movie for it. It's 2018 and a movie with and ending that's not predictable is hard to find.
Besides the story being very mediocre, this movie had some good things to offer: beautiful cinematography, good acting, and at certain moments, a great atmosphere, but that's not enough to make me ignore it's flaws and it's pretty blank story.
Final verdict: 5.5/10
